Paste special why is it not working

That is how I did mine and it worked. I put in a number in a cell , then went to format cell and custom and typed in then hit ok and it converted the cell to then I copied that cell and paste special into another cell and I got but when I changed the destination cell to format - text it was general it put it in as It is funny that I opened your spreadsheet on the same platform as mine and my spreadsheet works but yours doesn't.

I copied your formatted numbers, then chose another cell in the general area - right clicked, paste-special values and number formats - and no problem??? Re: excel - paste special - not working I have been having same issue. But, closing out Chrome does not help. Am finding other quirks as well. Now when I execute command, it comes out like straight copy paste with nothing deleted. Next stop is to re-install software, maybe switch from GC back to FF?

Does MS have a patch yet? This all started with GC install as far as I can determine. Paste special and Past Link are clearly dead. Paste link acts just like copy paste and then moves only text. While holding it down, click on Excel to open it in safe mode. Now Excel will show a dialog box that asks you whether you want to open MS Excel in safe mode or not.

Click Yes for this step. Once you click Yes , Excel will open in safe mode. Now try if Paste Special option is working as it should be or not. If it is working, then that means one of the add-ons that you have is the root cause of your issue.
